Keno was introduced in 200 before Christ by the Chinese army commander, Cheung Leung who utilized keno as a monetary resource for his failing forces. The metropolis of Cheung was waging a battle, and after some time appeared to be looking at a country wide shortage of food with the excessive drop in supplies. Cheung Leung had to create a fast response for the financial calamity and to create revenue for his forces. He therefore designed the game we know today as keno and it was a wonderful success.

Keno used to be well-known as the White Pigeon Game, since the winning numbers were sent out by pigeons from bigger municipalities to the tinier villages. The lottery ‘Keno’ was brought to the USA in the 1800s by Chinese newcomers who headed to the States for work. In those times, Keno used one hundred and twenty numbers.

Today, Keno is normally enjoyed with 80 numbers in just about all of the US land based casinos along with online casinos. Keno is largely enjoyed today because of the laid back nature of betting the game and the basic fact that there are no skills required to play Keno. Despite the reality that the chances of winning are horrible, there is always the possibility that you might hit quite big with very little gaming investment.

Keno is enjoyed with 80 numbers and 20 numbers are picked each game. Gamblers of Keno can select from 2 to 10 numbers and wager on them, whatever amount they are able to. The payout of Keno is according to the bets made and the roll out of matching numbers.

Keno grew in universal appeal in the United States near the close of the 1800’s when the Chinese characters were changed with more familiar, American numbers. Lotteries were not covered under the laws of gaming in the state of Nevada in 1931. The casinos renamed the ‘Chinese lottery’ to ‘horse race keno’ employing the idea that the numbers are horses and you are wanting your horses to come in. When the Nevada government passed a law that levied a tax on off track wagering, Nevada casinos swiftly changed the name to ‘Keno’.
