It may not ordinarily be considered the most lucrative game in the realm of gambling, but keno has millions and millions of keen players. And why not? It’s a routinely exciting lotto-esque game that’s simple to master, abundantly available in lots of different styles, and one that might return millions for gamblers who master its heaps of subtle rules. But let’s begin with the beginner’s rules here.
When explaining keno to newbies, some betting pros compare it to bingo. This is at least partially correct, in that each game is essentially numerical. Yet to carry that comparison too far might be to think too little of the countless unique characteristics that make keno so compelling. Not like bingo, keno users have the power to select the numbers for each card.
Keno cards have a total of 80 numbers, but the player is given an additional degree of personal responsibility by being able to select as many (or as few) numbers as he desires. And it doesn’t take a super genius to come up with how to fill out a card: all you do is circle or otherwise mark all your picked numbers with a standardmarker like you used when you were in grade 3.
Once you’ve marked your numbers, carry your card back to the keno pit manager at the keno booth. The person will record those numbers and then give you a receipt. Make sure no to misplace this (potentially) expensive bit of paper! Even if the keno pit manager remembers you and wants help out, without a winning receipt with you, you will be given exactly $.00 for your efforts.

Once you’ve marked your numbers, get yourself into a comfortable keno booth and watch the action happen on the big keno monitor. That’s where the winning numbers are displayed for us. If you selected winning numbers, mark your card accordingly. Sake care not to drag your feet, or sit there praising yourself for too great a length of time. You need to get back to the keno stand to collect your winnings, and a new drawing will probably start up within 5 minutes.
Strategy number 2: always get back to the keno stand on time!
Since you can not trust yourself to meet that 5 minute margin every time, you always retain the option of using a "multi-race" ticket. These include the self same set of your chosen numbers on anywhere from two to 20 cards. When the maximum amount of keno games (matching the number of tickets) is played, you may then get off your numb bum and go redeem your winnings.
Another opportunity is recognized as a "stray and play" keno ticket, which usually lets you make number choices for 30 keno rounds or more. Gosh, you can take all the time in the world and not have to worry about getting back in time to retrieve your winnings. Most "stray and play" cards are good for up to a whole year after you purchase it!
